Jae Myung Kim

I am a Research Scientist at R1 RCM, a healthcare company based in New York, where I work on building and improving LLMs for healthcare applications. My current research focuses on healthcare × AI, with particular interest in knowledge distillation during mid-training and post-training of LLMs.

I completed my PhD at the University of Tübingen as a member of the ELLIS & IMPRS-IS programs, advised by Zeynep Akata (TU Munich/Helmholtz Munich) and Cordelia Schmid (Inria/Google). During my PhD, I worked on synthetic data generation, weak alignment, and trustworthy AI. I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees from Seoul National University.
